In my spare time I lead backpacking trips and assist with paddling and climbing trips for the Webb School. I was a ski instructor for a few years in Washington, and I have fun wakeboarding when I get the chance, bu t no other sport is quite like mountain biking. Favorite things about racing/riding: The thrill of riding down hill fast and not knowing if you will make the next turn, the empowered feeling of making it to the top of a really tough climb, and simply the freedom of pedaling for hours and not thinking about anything else. Favorite biking moment: When I finally realized that the best way to stay in control at high speeds and steep down hill angles is to let go of the brakes.
