Ride for Reading's purpose is to distribute books to children who are not fortunate enough to own their own. In low-income neighborhoods, the ratio of books per child is 1 age-appropriate book for every 300 children.* Reading is an integral part of education, and without books it is hard to build a strong academic base. Our children need materials to read at home and it is our goal to provide the means.

» Tara Llanes - Downhill & BMX Rider Injured

On Saturday September 1st 2007, the BMX and mountain biking worlds suffered a tremendous tragedy. While competing in the Jeep King of the Mountain finale in Beaver Creek Colorado, one of the greatest athletes the sport has known, Tara Llanes, suffered a horrific crash during the first run of her semi-final heat. Tara was rushed to Vail Valley Hospital, then airlifted to Denver Health Hospital a short time later. Following seven hours of surgery to the back and spinal cord, it was determined she had no feeling from the waist down.

Please show your support for Tara by visiting www.tarallanesroadtorecovery.com and making a donation to the Road to Recovery Fund through one of the avenues listed.

» National Mountain Bike: A welcome & Overview
Hello, and welcome to NationalMountainBike.com .

Are you looking for people to ride with in your local area? Do you have a bike related event you'd like to post? Maybe you've got some technical gear questions or just need to check out some photos or videos?

Our goal with NMB is to bring a true sense of community to mountain bikers on a National level. The board is divided by U.S. states, which all have their own sub-forums such as "Upcoming Events," "Open Discussion," "New Members," etc...NMB gives riders a great opportunity to meet the people you're corresponding with.

To get started click the FORUMS button at the top of this page. Then find your state and you can immediately begin posting messages in your local area. Stop by the "New Members" section of your state to introduce yourself.

Please feel free to post a link to your local mtb website within your region...Anything to help riders find information about where to ride, who to ride with, etc...

Thank you for visiting, and please help us in keeping NMB a fairly-family-friendly place to meet other riders, plan rides, chat, etc...

Thank you!!
